Rafting and Water Sports

White water rafting the San Miguel River should be the pinnacle of any summer trip to Telluride.  Take in the scenery, paddle and splash through class II-III rapids!  The Telluride rafting season typically begins in late May and runs through late July in most years. There are several outfitters to choose from in the area and each offers a variety of half day and full day trips, through different sections of the San Miguel. The river provides an important ecosystem for the flora and fauna that live in the area.  You will likely learn about the wildlife from the knowledgeable guides as well as a quick history lesson on how the canyon walls were formed!
