Mountain Trip began as a big mountain dream in 1973 up in Alaska. They grew from a small operation guiding trips to the summit of Denali, the highest peak in North America, to guiding the 'Seven Summits,' or the highest peaks around the world--including Mount Everest. In Telluride, they guide the Via Ferrata, trekking, peak ascents, backcountry skiing, and rock and ice climbing; they are the only Telluride-based guide service permitted to guide in the Ouray Ice Park. Mountain Trip also offers custom international trekking and mountaineering trips from South America to Antarctica.
Mountain Trip describes the Via Ferrata best - a hike along a sheer cliff, with steel rungs to hold onto when the going gets tough. This multi-pitch climbing route traverses rock faces up to 600 feet above ground and provides unmatched views of Bridal Veil Falls and the town of Telluride.
From single pitch top rope outings to long, multi-pitch more traditional routes, Mountain Trip offers it all. Choose from the following climbing venues: Mill Creek, Pipe Line Wall, Ophir Wall, Ophir Needles, The Dark Side, Water Fall Canyon, Sandstone Crack Climbs.
Let Mountain Trip be your guide as your check 13ers and 14ers off your list. They offer trips up Mount Wilson, El Diente, Wilson Peak, Dallas Peak, Lizard Head Peak, and many more.
Trekking may be the best way to experience the more remote areas of Telluride. Mountain Trip's treks will give you the opportunity to see stunning vistas, wildflowers, and wildlife. Plus their guides are trained in the local natural history and offer interpretation as you trek!
