Bootdoctors & Paragon Outdoors is a local, family-owned outdoor retailer originating in Taos Ski Valley, New Mexico in 1986, and later expanding to Telluride in 1997. Rated the world's best boot fitters due to their detailed process and unparalleled customer experience, these folks are experts in their trade. Work with owner Bob Gleason or any of the staff to choose the right boot for you, along with custom footbeds.
The business has three retail locations, with the flagship store located in the Mountain Village core and two additional storefronts in the town of Telluride. Additionally, they lead summer and winter adventures in rafting, stand up paddleboarding, hiking, and biking.
Bootdoctors & Paragon Sports offers a variety of guided adventures to enhance any visit to Telluride.
BIKING - Bootdoctors offers mountain biking tours in Telluride and the surrounding areas for all levels of expertise. Learn a bit of history about our area on the scenic Galloping Goose trail or choose an adrenaline pumping singletrack adventure. Custom adventures are available for more advanced riders.
RAFTING - Enjoy class II and II rapids, rafting down the San Miguel River. Bootdoctors guides will ensure you have a safe and splashy time while also pointing our unique flowers and fauna. You will most likely come away with a history lesson on how the red-walled canyon was formed as well as what earlier development looked like along the river and down the valley. The 1/2 day trip to Specie Creek is ideal for families with younger children while the more intense trip to Deep Creek is better for children over the age of 12. If you have more time try one of the full day trips to hanging flume or Norwood Canyon. Can't get enough? Then the 2-day adventure with a camping overnight is the trip for you!
STAND UP PADDLING - If you can stand up you can SUP, is the mantra from Bootdoctors. Enjoy the spectacular surroundings of the San Juans from a different point of view, on the water. Experienced Bootdoctors guides are happy to run tours for the novice to advanced paddlers. Paddlers must be 8 years old or 50 lbs to enjoy this guided activity.
HIKING - Ahhh hiking in the San Juans makes one feel alive. Hiking is good for the soul and with every blood pumping climb you are rewarded with 360-degree jaw-dropping views. You are assured to discover wildflower-filled meadows, rushing waterfalls and the occasional mining ruin. If you haven't visited before or prefer to leave it to an expert to choose the best hike given the time of year you have chosen to visit, Bootdoctors has guides that will take you up into high-country.
