Arts & Culture
High country culture is alive and thriving in Telluride every season of the year.
While Telluride may be most famous for the way it gets the adrenal glands pumping, it has a refined cultural side as well. And we don’t just mean our summertime line-up of great festivals. From the brilliant artists behind our many fine galleries and restaurants to the local architecture, the arts are alive in Telluride. The town has received the prestigious Governor’s Arts Award and the Telluride Arts District, which follows the boundaries of town, is a "Certified Colorado Creative District."
The Telluride Arts District is both a geographic area and an organization that provides a vibrant voice and resource for the local arts community, supporting artists, sponsoring events, and connecting the public to the area’s wonderfully vast array of art and culture. One such organization, the Ah Haa School for the Arts, offers classes in everything from pottery to dance to book-binding. There’s even a monthly art walk for locals and visitors alike get out to stroll downtown, enjoy a glass of wine and admiring all the latest exhibits.
