Buses

Telluride and Mountain Village both have a bus system to transport you where you need to go around town!

Telluride

The entire town of Telluride is accessible by walking, but sometimes you just want to hop on a bus! The Galloping Goose makes a loop around town regularly and stops are located at all of the main spots, including the High School, Shandoka, Carhenge, Gondola, Town Park, Courthouse, Post Office and several others. During the regular season, the bus runs every 15 or 20 minutes. For a current audio reading of the Town Loop bus schedule, please call (970) 728-2177 and follow the prompts or click here for a schedule.

Mountain Village

The San Miguel Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART) operates a free bus service between Mountain Village and Telluride during the shoulder seasons when the gondola is closed. SMART also offers a bus route between Mountain Village and Lawson Hill, which includes stops at Market Plaza, Centrum Building, Blue Mesa, Mountain School and more. Click here for the bus schedules and stops.

The Telluride Mountain Village Owners Association also offers Dial-a-Ride as a form of free transportation within town limits. Gratuity is recommended and there is a limit of 200 trips per residence. Dial-A-Ride operates seven days a week during the winter and summer seasons (not during shoulder seasons). Click here for the most up-to-date information.

Other Areas

Smart also operates buses to Norwood, Down Valley, Lawson Hill, Rico, and has Vanpool to Ridgway, Montrose and Mountain Village. Schedules change depending on the season, so click below for the current schedules.
