LitFest is an opportunity to gather and celebrate the joy of reading and the craft of writing. It was decided in 2014 that it was high time for Telluride to put on its own event for readers, writers and poets. The result? A power-packed weekend featuring everything from performance poetry, author talks, and the infamous Literary Burlesque; to poet walks, workshops and hands-on bookish events for kiddos. Plus the awarding of the $1000 Fischer poetry Prize and $500 Cantor Prize. The Featured Author for 2018 is Craig Childs with his just-released new book "Atlas of a Lost World: Travels in Ice Age America." The Featured Poet is Esther Belin of the Navajo Nation. this cozy fest is cobbled together by Telluride Arts, Between the Covers Bookstore, Wilkinson Public Library, Ah Haa School for the Arts, and Telluride Institute's Talking Gourds Poetry Program. Join us while town is still mellow and "Get Lit in Telluride!"
