Monoprinting and the Hand-Stitched Mark

Create one-of-a-kind monoprints on cloth; then discover how stitching can transform designs by enhancing color, deepening space, and creating surprising textures. Students will produce their own unique cloth studies, layering transparent fabrics (think silk organza and cotton batiste) to reveal surprising depth, images and colors in their work. Through exploration and experimentation, students will discover that monoprinting is a great way to unblock when you are creatively stuck, presenting happy accidents and new visual ideas. This class will be held at a private Telluride residence.
