Learn the magical art of making paper, from collecting and processing plant materials to transforming fiber into pulp and pulling sheets. Divided into three parts, each day will build on the previous day’s focus, starting with outdoor exploration and a discussion of non-native species and ending with forming sheets and experimenting with inclusions and pulp painting. Students will incorporate both collected and provided materials to experience the entire process of papermaking, step by step. All will leave with their own unique collection of one-of-a-kind paper.
All supplies are included, but students are encouraged to bring a pair of gardening clippers for plant cuttings. This class will be held at a private home in Telluride.
