Telluride Skijoring

Telluride Skijoring is a free, family-friendly winter event that brings the high-energy sport of skijoring right to Main Street. Skiers and snowboarders are pulled behind horses down a snow-packed course on East Colorado Avenue, racing through gates, and flying over jumps in an exciting display of horsemanship and athleticism. Across the weekend, spectators can watch novice runs that introduce newcomers to the sport, plus advanced skills demonstrations from seasoned teams, all while enjoying Telluride’s historic downtown and local businesses. The festivities also include a “Best Dressed in the West” winter/western outfit contest, inviting everyone to get involved and celebrate the playful, adventurous spirit that defines Telluride in winter.
