Looking to learn about winter travel and recreation in the mountains? Join the Friends of the San Juans for an on-snow avalanche awareness clinic where participants will be introduced to avalanche safety gear, make weather and snow observations, and learn about the CAIC daily backcountry avalanche forecasts. This is an introductory, pre-Avalanche Level 1 course intended for community members who are planning to continue their education in the next two seasons.
