Big Love Car Wash

Like the music they play, Big Love Car Wash is full of dichotomies: whimsical yet serious, fanciful yet pragmatic, filled with lofty dreams yet grounded in reality. The quartet met in the musical melting pot of Austin, TX and quickly honed a signature sound that lands somewhere between bluegrass, folk-rock, jazz, and folk. They call this magic blend “heart-forward dreamgrass”.

The band released its debut album “Daydream” in 2025, recorded at the fabled Arlyn Studios in Austin, TX. The release was heralded by publications nationwide as a creative and fresh entry into the Americana scene. Following up the release with their first national tour, Big Love Car Wash sold out shows, delighted audiences, and secured 2nd place in the prestigious Telluride Bluegrass Festival Band Competition, which has been a spring board for bands such as The Chicks, Greensky Bluegrass, and The Fretliners.

They peddle an Americana-oriented, bluegrass-steeped sound that’s built on rich traditions, yet boldly exploratory.  Lyrics from their three songwriters touch on themes of empathy, community, environmentalism, and social justice. Ever respectful of traditions past, they are looking ahead to the music’s future and creating new stories and sounds for the present moment.
