What's Happening this Week in Telluride & Mountain Village

As ski season winds down, there are plenty of events to entertain all between now and last chair. This will be the last Peak Sheet of the 2021/2022 winter season, with a return for summer the week of May 22.  

Telluride Theatre’s Burlesque continues this week with CHEAP THRILLS, the graduation of the beginner class, tonight, and THE VEGAS STRIP on Friday and Saturday (March 24 & 25). The annual fundraiser resurrects the raucous and raunchy variety shows of Telluride’s vaudeville era.

Support One to One Mentoring at the Cardboard Sled Derby on Saturday, March 26 at 10:30 a.m. at Telluride Ski Resort’s NASTAR Hill. The event is open to ages 5 – 14, and online pre-registration is required.

Enjoy opera, and a combination of chamber music and dance at the Palm Theatre this week. On Saturday, March 26 the Met Opera Broadcast will feature Don Carlos (Verdi) at 10 a.m. Telluride Chamber Music and Telluride Dance Collective present Sustenance on Sunday, March 27 at 7 p.m. Bringing together talented local musicians, dancers, along with a world premiere composition, this show is about what sustains the human spirit and reminds us of our vitality.

The Sheridan Opera House features Grammy Award-winning quintet, The Infamous Stringdusters, on March 27 & 28 at 8 p.m. These shows are sold out. On Thursday, March 31, the Sheridan Arts Foundation presents Zoso: The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience.

Après into off-season at the Telluride Transfer Warehouse. Tom & Claybrooke take the stage on March 26, Queens of King Street on March 27, and Lavalanche on April 1. The Warehouse will also feature Cousin Curtiss live on Saturday, March 25, and High Step Society on Thursday, March 31. Both shows start at 5:30 p.m., and tickets are $15.

The KOTO Spring Street Dance will kick-off closing weekend festivities on West Main Street on Friday, April 1 from 4 – 8 p.m. with Shakedown Street. The event is free, with a cash bar featuring beer from Telluride Brewing Company. At 9 p.m., the Sheridan Arts Foundation presents $1 Community Night featuring Joint Pointat the Opera House. Soul Brass Band will close out the season on Sunday, April at 4:30 p.m. at the Telluride Transfer Warehouse.
