The Gondola is Open for the Winter Season
The gondola opened for the winter season on Friday, November 20. It will be open daily, 6:30 a.m.-midnight through April 4, 2021.
The gondola connects the historic town of Telluride to the contemporary Mountain Village. It is the only free transportation system of its kind in North America. A lift ticket is required to disembark at Station San Sophia.
Please remember that there are a number of COVID-19 restrictions on the gondola that will continue through the winter. Extra patience is very much appreciated this winter as the town navigates its way through the pandemic. There will be long lines at certain times of the day due to decreased capacity in the cabins because only associated parties can ride together. Skiers and riders able to ski down to Telluride or Mountain Village at the end of the day are encouraged to do so to alleviate end of day congestion on the gondola. Social distancing markers at gondola stations will be in place. Masks are required while passengers wait in line and ride the gondola.
