Skijoring Is Coming to Telluride
On March 14 & 15, Colorado Avenue in Telluride will be transformed into a snowy wonderland for the inaugural Telluride Skijoring event.
Skijoring is a fast-paced race against the clock in which a mounted rider pulls a skier or snowboarder behind them at up to 35 miles per hour. Organizers were laying snow down on Friday and setting up the course to be ready to go for Saturday's events. The first day kicks off with a novice race, followed by a youth competition, skijoring pro invitational, best dressed contest, and awards with a calcutta. Day two features a novice race, youth competition, skijoring pro invitational and awards and closing party.
No dogs, drones, or outside alcohol will be permitted. Entry is free.
