San Juan Skyway Scenic & Historic Byway Designated As Official Electric Byway
In August of 2025, the San Juan Skyway Scenic & Historic Byway was officially been designated as Colorado’s newest Electric Byway.
The San Juan Skyway, one of the most iconic and breathtaking drives in the country, now features DC Fast Charging stations in Cortez, Durango, Purgatory, Ouray, and Telluride, with additional projects underway in Ridgway, Silverton, Durango, and Dolores. The longest stretch without a charger—Telluride to Cortez—is just 76 miles, keeping it well within EV-friendly range of 100 miles.
