I always wondered what it would be like to go to a video awards ceremony. Now I know...thanks to the gang over at Telluride TV.
This past Saturday night marked the second annual Telluride TV Video Awards, an event held to promote community media and content participation. This "Telluride style" black tie affair will make you feel like you are at the Oscars as they literally roll out the red carpet. Locals were invited to submit films and compete for cash prizes, a custom trophy, and bragging rights.
Telluride.com's very own Hart Roberts along with partner/co-founder of Chair 8 Media Cameron Barker invited us along to root for their fly fishing film, Bonacca. Bonacca is an outstanding short film documenting their journey to a remote island in Honduras to catch Permit, an elusive salt water fish, on a fly rod. The night was filled with excitement and celebration as Bonacca took home best Outdoor/Sports film! Watch the video here:
Talented young local filmmaker Keith Hill also won best promotional film for his short on the Pinhead Institute. Watch it here:
Other winning films included Tele til’ You’re Smelly, Kronos, and Put your Horns on Me. Check them all out here.
Whether you are an aspiring filmmaker, movie advocate, or just like to catch the occasional flick at your local movie theatre, I encourage you to check out the Telluride TV Video awards next year!
