Telluride Blues Day 2 Recap

Monday • September 16, 2013

It doesn't get much better than a Friday afternoon in Telluride Town Park. Add some beer and a stacked lineup and you've got one big ol' party. There was some mud and some rain but that didn't slow anyone down from witnessing a whole lot of awesome music.

Australian folk, rock and blues singer, Kim Churchill, kicked things off. This one man band + harmonica + kick drum made for an amazing opening performance. Austin's Bright Light Social Hour was a present surprise, bringing a really unique Ghostland Observatory + Led Zeppelin sound that was perfect to get the crowd dancing for a big evening. ZZ Ward was a beautiful combination of Etta James, Adele's voice and Grace Potter's beauty. Mark my word, she's going to blow up! Allen Stone's amazing stage presence makes for a must-see live performance. The guy dances all over the place. Gary Clark Jr. just might be the Telluride Town Park show of the summer. He blew the crowd away. It was like Jimi Hendrix reincarnated. And then we capped Day 2 off with an unbelievable set from The Black Crowes. Strong way to kickoff the 20th annual festival!
