It's day 3 of the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and I can feel the exhaustion beginning to set in. The Telluride Bluegrass Festival is a marathon of music...not a sprint...so it's imperative I push through. And its pretty easy to do so with such an energetic Saturday lineup. An afternoon with Peter Rowan's Twag and Groove, the Punch Brothers, and Yonder Mountain String Band snapped me right out of my tired reality back into the bluegrass festival daze. Andrew Bird and the Hands of Glory performed a relaxing set filled with beautiful harmonies by Tift Merritt.
The FREE Elks Park Stage saw the likes of several A-list muscisians during the Watkins Family Hour -featuring siblings Sara Watkins and Sean Watkins. John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin, Gillian Welch, Willie Watson, and Dave Rawlings sat in with the duo for a few tunes. Sara Jarosz and Aoife O'Donovan rounded out the lineup.
The Sam Bush Band and Leftover Salmon rocked the canyon walls with killer performances to close out the evening.
