The Punch Brothers are no strangers to Telluride Town Park. For years they've serenated thousands of festivarians over the summer solstice during the annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Film fest was a first.
The Punch Brothers, who recently contributed to the forthcoming Inside Llewyn Davis soundtrack, opened the 40th Telluride Film Festival last night in Town Park with a handful of their bluegrass hits, tunes from past Coen Brothers' films including Dylan's "The Man in Me" from The Big Lebowski, "Man of Constant Sorrow" from O Brother, Where Art Thou?, and a new tune "Fare Thee Well, My Honey" from the Coen bros' upcoming film, Inside Llewyn Davis. Inside Llewyn Davis' first Telluride Film Fest showing is tonight at the Galaxy at 7pm with a Q&A following featuring Joel and Ethan Coen, T-Bone Brunett and Oscar Isaac. We'll be there. And we're stoked.
CBS Films release Inside Llewyn Davis on December 20th, 2013. The album will be released September 17 on Nonesuch. Details & pre-order here.
