Fall Fun with Colorful Cars!

Monday • September 28, 2015

The weather has allowed for some prime leaf-peeping opportunities in the region!

It was also the first annual Telluride Festival of Cars and Colors. The festival brought vintage and exotic cars, as well as high-end restorations to the Telluride area. It also included a War Birds Exhibit, which are the iconic aircraft of World War II (pictured below). The Glamorous Glenn was flown in the first daylight raid over Berlin by General Chuck Yeager.

The JFK Exhibit also generated a lot of buzz around town. It consisted of the 1963 Pontiac Bonneville Navy Ambulance rumored to have carried JFK’s body following his assassination (pictured below), the 1964 Miller-Meteor Cadillac Hearse that carried the President from the hospital to the Air Force One, and Jackie Kennedy’s 1957 Jaguar Mark I. Jerry O’Rourke, Telluride local and White House Secret Service Agent for 22 years, spoke at an event on Saturday evening.

After taking in some fascinating history and gorgeous cars, it was time to venture out for more fall loveliness. Check back for more fall photos! This is only the beginning…
