You've done it! You've booked your dream Telluride vacation. Now it's time to start planning the fun stuff - hiking, biking, skiing, jeeping - the works!
While you're in Telluride, you have to eat. Sure, it's fun to splurge on some unique restaurants nestled in the box canyon, but that can quickly add up - especially if you're with your family! Instead of stressing about your next meal, spend your money on fun outdoor activities and eat on a budget in Telluride!
That's not a typo - you can literally get a monster double burger and a side of fries for $10 every single day at M Lounge! Located in the Mountain Village, you can sit outside on the patio near all of the Madeline's outdoor games and chow down or play some shuffleboard or pool inside while slamming fries. Stop by after a day on the slopes or a long day hiking Telluride's beloved trails.
Feeling fancy? Eat at the Phoenix Bean! For just $21, you can get a steak or cut of salmon with a glass of wine for just $21! That's so affordable, you can grab an extra glass of vino. This deal is valid from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily.
Telluride's beloved taco shop is not only delicious, but it can also be affordable, too! Taco Del Gnar's dinner meal comes with two tacos of your choice, tater tots smothered in queso (our favorite) and a side of beans. For $10.50. Seriously. (We always opt for double tots and no beans - trust us, it's worth it.)
What's better than a burger and fries to end your week? When that burger and fries are only $7! Cornerhouse offers this ridiculous deal every Friday - along with a $4 drink deal. Cheese and other toppings do raise the price, but it's still possible to get a stacked burger for under $10. Swap out your fries for delicious tater tots!
Would you like some wine along with your meal? The West End Bistro at the Hotel Telluride offers rigatoni bolognese and wine for just $19! You can't get a deal like that on pasta and wine anywhere else in Telluride.
Who needs a restaurant when you can just grab a bite at one of the local carts and snag a spot in the park to eat? There are always food carts located in Elks Park and you can usually get a full meal (most carts offer a bag of chips with your meal) for under $10! The gyro cart is delicious, and the grilled cheese cart ALWAYS has a line (in this town, that's definitely a good thing). Don't forget to tip!
One way to easily save money is to book lodging with a kitchen or kitchenette. Picking up groceries in Montrose or in town is easy, and once you've spent the initial money up front, you don't have to worry about spending any money on food for your entire vacation. Hope you brought your chef's hat!
