Combine Telluride's magnificent setting, spectacular fall colors with hundreds of classic cars and you have this September's Telluride Festival of Cars & Colors ("TFCC").
Last fall, we had a sneak preview of this festival with only one night of cars on Main Street and no traffic blocked off (see pictures above). Even with little advance notice, about 40 cars were on display. This year, TFCC kicks into high gear with 4 days of cars on display in on Main Street and up in Mountain Village. Add to that a Road Rally on the Million Dollar Highway (240-mile loop), a JFK cars exhibit, a fly-in to America's highest commercial airstrip (Telluride Regional Airport), and we should expect over 100 classic cars and perhaps many many more.
Festival organizers expect as many as 4,000 visitors to Telluride to enjoy the festival for the first year. That would immediately propell TFCC to be one of Telluride's major festivals.
While the Main Street displays are free, visitors will need to purchase passes for some of the other events. Tickets range from $75 - $400. The 4-day $400 pass is currently on special at a 2-for-1 price.
