Blind Pilot originally began as a duo, Israel Nebeker and Ryan Dobrowski, but after the instant success of their debut CD "3 Rounds and a Sound," they added four new members (Luke Ydstie, Kati Claborn, Dave Jorgensen, and Ian Krist) and began touring as a sextet with a more textured, broad, and beautiful sound. Their second CD, "We Are the Tide," was also a critical success and the group went on to perform at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and other festivals, as well as on Late Night with David Letterman and Last Call with Carson Daly. They are now touring in support of their third CD, "And Then Like Lions," which has been acclaimed for the emotional depth of its lyrics and vocals and the way the instrumentation weaves together the narrative.
Blind Pilot has performed at the Sheridan Opera House in Telluride twice before, to sold-out crowds, but this is their first visit in four years — and their first visit since their latest album release. The shows are Feb. 24 and 25, and tickets are $30 for general admission and $40 for reserved balcony seating. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the shows start at 9 p.m.
