The Valley Floor, located before the entrance to Telluride, represents one of the region’s greatest achievements in preservation. This 3-mile stretch has been preserved as an open space and creates a winter playground for outdoor enthusiasts. There are 15 to 20 km of groomed nordic trails for skate and classic skiing. Snowshoes, hiking, and fat-tire biking are allowed on designated trails. 

Parking is available at Mahoney Drive, San Miguel Country Store (Shell gas station), and near Society Turn on the west end of the Valley Floor. Please stay on groomed trails and respect wildlife and protected wetland areas. Dogs are not permitted on the Valley Floor west of Boomerang Trailhead.
