Fall Foliage

As the festival season comes to a close, the colors of Fall provide a show of their own. The many aspen groves throughout the San Juan Mountains transform from verdant green to brilliant yellows and golds. Find variations of color as you tour the scenic San Juan Skyway. Typically, Fall colors start in mid to late September and last for up to three weeks.

A memorable way to see the fall foliage is on a guided 4x4 tour to Tomboy Basin and Imogene Pass. The tour heads into Telluride’s high country, where you’ll travel above the treeline for spectacular views of the entire valley. Click here for a list of outfitters that offer 4 x 4 tours.
