If you’ve skied Telluride, you may recognize the Telluride Trail. By winter it serves as a ski run from the resort into town. In the summer, it’s a great hike to get a workout and snag some great views of Telluride and the impressive surrounding peaks. The trail has a series of switchbacks that cross the ski resort, and it’s not unusual to encounter some wildlife along the way, like marmots, porcupine, and deer. Most people choose to hike up, grab lunch in Mountain Village and take the Gondola down.
