When you tire of Alpine Skiing, try Nordic Skiing or Skate Skiing! It's one of the best ways to explore the area in winter. Telluride boasts miles of trails for you to explore during your Telluride ski vacation. There are groomed tracks in town, at the resort and groomed trails that circle nearby lakes. If this is your first-time Nordic skiing make sure you contact the Telluride Nordic Center for lessons.
Telluride Town Park offers 3km of circuit track that connects to the San Miguel River Trail, which runs through town and eventually arrives at the Valley Floor Loop. In Mountain Village, open fairways mark the 6 km of intermediate trails on the scenic Telluride Golf Course in the Mountain Village. You can also ski Prospect Basin & Magic Meadow which is accessed from the top of Lift 10. 10 km of groomed tracks await the intermediate and advanced Nordic skier. The advanced skier can ski from Magic Meadows past abandoned mining cabins to Alta Lakes. Nordic day and season passes are available from the ski area for Lift 10 only. Other options include Trout and Priest Lake, approximately 15 miles South of Telluride.
