Engineer Pass makes up the Alpine Loop with Cinnamon Pass and is located near Ouray, just outside of Telluride. The complete Alpine Loop is 63 miles.

Directions: Head north on CO-145 N and turn right on CO-62 towards Ridgway. Once through the town of Ridgway, turn right on CO-550 to Ouray. (You can also take a shortcut through Ophir Pass). Four miles south of Ouray, you'll see a sign for Engineer Pass off of CO-550. The first two miles of this road are the most rugged and difficult, and the scenery following is totally worth it. You can continue along this road to Cinnamon Pass, which connects to Lake City and Silverton to complete the Alpine Loop.
