Cinnamon Pass

A Beautiful Part of the Alpine Loop

This scenic route provides views without a super difficult off-roading trail. As part of the Alpine Loop, you can either do it on its own or as a complete 63-mile day trip. 

Distance: 63 miles (complete Alpine Loop) 12 miles for Cinnamon Pass

Difficulty: Moderate

Time: 3-4 hours

Elevation Gain: 2,915 feet

Directions: From Silverton, head northeast on County Road 2 for .3 miles. Turn right onto County Road 2 and go 8.1 miles. Take a slight left to stay on County Road 2 and go 3.9 miles. From there, you'll turn right on County Road 5, which is the Cinnamon Pass road. 

From Lake City, head south on CO-149 and go 2.6 miles to County Road 30 and take a right. Go 12.1 miles to an intersection with County Road 35, where you will turn right to stay on County Road 30. 

This road is part of the Alpine Loop and connects Lake City, Silverton and Ouray. You can also see Engineer Pass along the route.
