Just when you thought the summer festival lineup couldn’t get any better, Telluride is bringing the heat with a new festival this fall. The Telluride Pig & Whiskey BBQ Festival will kick off its first year with barbecue competitions, music, and more. Sponsored by the Kansas City Barbecue Society, this event will bring in 15 professional barbeque teams from around the country for a judged competition. An amateur competition will also be open to the public. The cook off will be held in the Telluride Conference Center in Mountain Village and the festival will run from 11am until 8pm on both Saturday and Sunday! It should be an exciting event, with some impressive prizes on the line. Winner of the competition will recieve a ticket to participate in the American Royal Barbecue Festival in Kansas City this fall. Amateur cooks will also be competing for trophies and a possible cash prize! You don't want to miss this event.
