Horseback riding is a fun adventure in both the winter and summertime, but horseback riding with Telluride’s San Juan Mountain backdrop is truly a memorable experience. Fortunately – the Telluride region offers a variety of horseback riding options depending on the experience you’re looking for.

If you’re staying in Telluride or Mountain Village, “Ride with Roudy” is the closest horseback riding outfit. Local cowboy, “Roudy Roudebush” has been taking people on trail rides along the backdrop of the Wilson range for over 30 years. Trips are available from one to two hour rides and customized pack trips can also be arranged. “Ride with Roudy” offers over 30 miles of private trails and unlike other destinations – they go on the mountain through a variety of different terrain. Along with horseback riding – “Ride with Roudy” offers sleigh rides in the winter on a horse-drawn bobsled with warm blankets available in a picture perfect setting. Not far from the Telluride area, “Many Ponies” is a horseback riding outfit in the nearby ranching town of Norwood – 45 minutes from Telluride.
