    Mountain bikers of all levels can challenge their abilities during their Telluride vacation on dramatic vertical terrain or take a relaxing tour through the breathtaking scenery of the Uncompahgre National Forest. Old mining roads and single-tracks in the region climb 9,500 feet to historic sites and rugged mountain beauty. The San Juan Hut System (overnight facilities) connects Telluride to Moab, Utah with 206 miles of varied terrain. Phil's World near Cortez, CO, about an hour from Telluride, also offers great trails for mountain biking.

  • Golf

    Perched high above Telluride at 9,500+ feet above sea level, the Telluride Golf Club stretches for 6,574 yards through the beautiful Town of Mountain Village. Staying focused will pose as your hardest threat as you weave around this mountain course with stunning views of Wilson Peak, Mount Wilson, and jagged peaks surrounding you through every swing. The Telluride Golf Course is open from May 28th to October 3rd, offering its guests GPS equipped golf carts, delicious Half-Way house, friendly service, and unbelievable views. Rumor is you can hit the ball 15% further due to the altitude… but find out for yourself! Stats: Par 70, 6,574 yard, 18 hole, mountain course.
  • Gondola

    Since its opening in November 1996, the Telluride/Mountain Village gondola has served as a one-of-a-kind transportation system, unique to its kind in North America. The gondola provides FREE transportation between the towns of Telluride and Mountain Village and it serves both as a lift for skiers and snowboarders, but also as transportation for local and visitor pedestrians.

    The San Juan Mountains are a beautiful place to hike during the summer, and Telluride is the ideal place to base your mountain vacation. Wildflowers are at their height beginning early-July. Year-round mountaineering, trekking, and climbing schools provide backcountry and technical skills for outdoor enthusiasts of all levels. There are trails of every difficulty available from town and an abundance of magnificent options in the region.

    Floating The San Miguel One of the Telluride regions most popular summer activities is white water rafting. Floating the San Miguel River is an experience that can be tailored for all ages and ability levels. Choose from a selection of half day and full day trips with our experienced and enthusiastic river guides.
  • Sightseeing

    Drivers on Main Street in Telluride need to be extra cautious of pedestrians who are often so engrossed in the beautiful scenery, that they literally don’t watch where they are going! This box canyon in the heart of the San Juan Mountains is full of not-to-be-missed sights for visitors to explore. One of the top attractions is the gondola that connects the Town of Telluride to Mountain Village. This free scenic 15-minute ride is actually a part of the Mountain Village public transportations system and runs from 7am to midnight during the summer season and ski season. The gondola does operate later during select festivals and special events.
