VISA Snowboard World Cup December 14-17, 2011
For the third year in a row, Telluride is hosting the VISA Snowboard World Cup featuring Snowboard Cross (SBX) and Parallel Giant Slalom (PGS). Last year's line up included two time Olympic gold medalist Seth Wescott, three time X Games gold medalist Lindsey Jacobellis, six time X Games gold medalist Nate Holland, and World Championship bronze medalist Nick Baumgartner. Events begin with training runs on December 13. Men's and Women's SBX qualification runs will be on December 14, with finals of the SBX races run on December 16 and 17. PGS Finals will be held on December 15. The events will be televised on NBC at a later date.
As with previous years, spectators will have the opportunity to view the race right next to the course, and world-class skiing will be available for those who want to get away from the race action.
