Town Park

Located on the east edge of town, toward the head of the valley, is Telluride's Town Park. This is a place to have civilized relaxation and organized sports. Town Park boasts a wide variety of summer and winter sport venues and offers some of the best scenery in North America.

When there is no snow on the ground, baseball, basketball, tennis, beach volleyball, soccer and skateboarding are popular activities. There is also enough room to just play Frisbee or catch. In the winter time, Town Park offers Nordic skiing, ice skating, and ice hockey. Going to the Town Park is also a great activity for kids and the whole family – there is a playground, fishing pond and a BBQ station for picnics in the park – as well as plenty of room to run around!

Town Park is also the site on many of Telluride festivals, including the Telluride Bluegrass and Blues & Brews festivals. From its large stage, world class acts have played to happy throngs. The local repertory theater has also performed many plays in Town Park, both original and classic. 4th of July celebrations are also best seen in Town Park. With lots of space for family picnics and a great fireworks display put on by the local volunteer firefighters, Town Park is a popular spot on Independence Day.

While not in the center of Telluride, Town Park is in many ways the heart of Telluride.
