Telluride Kids Fish on Tom Sawyer DayTelluride is a great place to go with the entire family! There are plenty of year-round indoor and outdoor activities to please kids of all ages. Not to mention, the Telluride Town Park is a great place to go play. There's a fish pond, giant playground, volleyball courts, soccer fields, basketball courts, as well as a skate and bike park. Even on a rainy day, take the kids to the Museum, the movie theater, the libary or the Ah Haa Arts Center for plenty of fun activities.
  • Ah Haa Art School

    Founded in 1990 by book artist Daniel Tucker, the Ah Haa School’s desire is to provide an environment to inspire “ah haa” (the sound of inspiration) moments for any artist at any age or level of experience. They offer year-round programming for all ages taught by local and national instructors, thought-provoking exhibitions, art abroad programs and visiting artist workshops. Through their umbrella organizations, Telluride Writer’s Guild and American Academy of Bookbinding they offer lectures, workshops and bookbinding, respectively.
  • Library

    The Wilkison Public Library is located on the corner of Pacific & Pine Street in the historic mining town of Telluride, CO. The library has a collection of 76,283 books, ebooks, audio books and DVDS. In addition to books and DVDs the library also offers free Internet and WiFi use, story time for kids, Zoomba & Yoga classes and movies.
  • San Juan Outdoor School

    Telluride’s premier source for mountain adventures, the San Juan Outdoor School offers adventures in rock climbing, mountaineering, hiking, backpacking, camping, ice climbing, backcountry skiing, and snowshoeing. Join them for their fabulous kids' camps, inspiring women's adventures and cutting-edge courses in avalanche education. With the guidance of expert instructors and naturalists, participants in their programs gain an appreciation for the rich natural and cultural history of Telluride's majestic San Juan Mountains.
  • Ski School

    At the Telluride Ski Resort Children's Ski & Snowboard School, children are divided into programs that offer age-specific learning experiences. Snowboard instruction is available for children ages 7 - 14; ski lessons are offered to children ages 3 -14. Upon arrival, your children will feel right at home with Telluride's friendly mascots - Olivia the Otter, Eddie the Eagle and Morris the Bear. Olivia, Eddie and Morris are part of an integrated program to teach children not only skiing and snowboarding, but also Telluride's history and environment.
  • Telluride Academy

    Founded in 1981, the Telluride Academy has evolved from a backyard day camp into one of the largest non-profit youth organizations in Western Colorado. Each year, they open the doors to 800 children and teens who participate in more than 100 different programs in mountain sports, adventure, travel, arts, theater, science and much, much more. From their summer home base at the Telluride Middle/High School, the Academy employs four year-round staffers in addition to the more than 50 instructors and specialists who lead summer programming. Celebrating their 30th summer of camps in the community, the Telluride Academy has become a recognized leader in outdoor programming for young people.
  • Town Park

    Located on the east edge of town, toward the head of the valley, is Town Park. This is a place to have civilized relaxation and organized sports. Town Park boasts a wide variety of summer and winter sport venues and offers some of the best scenery in North America. When there is no snow on the ground, baseball, basketball, tennis, beach volleyball, soccer and skateboarding are popular activities. There is also enough room to just play Frisbee or catch. In the winter time, Town Park offers Nordic skiing, ice skating, and ice hockey. Going to the Town Park is also a great activity for kids and the whole family – there is a playground, fishing pond and a BBQ station for picnics in the park – as well as plenty of room to run around!
