Snowshoeing

Snowshoeing through the majestic landscape of Telluride makes for a beautiful, leisurely hike and also helps you work up an appetite. It is a great way to take a break from skiing or snowboarding for a day, while experiencing the Telluride region's fantastic scenery.

If you are looking for a guided tour, Telluride Reservations Center works with San Juan Outdoor School in booking a variety of tours, from half-and full-day tours to animal tracking snowshoe tours. With the guidance of expert instructors and naturalists, participants in these programs gain an appreciation for the rich natural and cultural history of the majestic San Juan mountain range.

The Telluride ski resort also offers a snowshoe tour. Knowledgeable guides serve tea and muffins along the way and share information about Telluride's history, flora and fauna, and geology. Guests meet their guide at 8:45 a.m. at the Mountain Village Plaza every Wednesday and Saturday or by advance reservation. A three-hour tour is $50 and includes a lift ticket, snack and snowshoe rental.

If you prefer to go out and discover the area on your own, Telluride Reservations Center can help you book snowshoes from Paragon Ski & Sport. Please contact Telluride Reservations Center at 1.888.376.9770 to make a reservation for snowshoes or a guided tour!
