Ice Skating

There's not one, but two ice rinks in Telluride, and one in Mountain Village, which makes a total of three in the area.

The Telluride iconic Town Park has both an outdoor rink and the Andy Hanley Ice Rink/Pavilion (inside rink). If you haven't ice skated outside before, you must. If conditions are sufficient, the outdoor rink offers stunning skating (and memories to last a lifetime - for the whole family) surrounded by snow-capped mountains. For Town Park Public Skating hours, call 970-728-2173. The indoor pavilion is covered with refrigerated ice rink, ensuring its conditions stay consistently optimal. Skate rentals are available at the Nordic Center, or call 970-728-1144.

Between late December (and sometimes February) the ice pond near Heritage Park in Mountain Village freezes sufficiently enough to skate. Though a pond, it's still a rink, and hours of operation are daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
