Sheridan Opera House announce Winter Entertainment

Posted on November 8, 2011 by Hart
Our good friends at the Sheridan Opera House just announced a KILLER lineup for this upcoming winter. Now let's be serious... anyone you see at the Opera House is an absolute magical experience. It's unique decor, old-school western feel, and small atmosphere make it one of the best venues in the country. I've been to a lot of different music venues around the country and it's still in my top 5 (others on the list include: Red Rocks, Telluride Town Park, The Gorge, Ryman Auditorium) of places to see a live show.

The Sheridan Opera Foundation has just announced their 2011/2012 Holiday Concert Series. Joe Pug, Justin Townes Earle, Head for the Hills, Canned Heat, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Jason Isbell, Elephant Revival, The Infamous Stringdusters, Leftover Salmon and much, much more! Top 5 Best Things to do in Telluride this Week, 2/21-2/28

Posted on February 21, 2011 by Hart
Happy Presidents' Day! We hope you're enjoying your holiday weekend with fresh snow and sunshine. Here are the Top 5 Best Things to do in Telluride for this week coming up, 2/21-2/28:

Tuesday, the 22nd - Stockholm Syndrome - I've heard from numerous people that last time Stockholm played in Telluride it was the "loudest show I've ever been to"... so get ready for some more rocking out in an even smaller venue. Join Stockholm Syndrome and supporting band Super 400 at the Sheridan Opera House for another awesome evening of the most skilled musicians in the jam band world. Dave Schools from Widespread Panic and singer/songwriter Jerry Joseph of the Jackmormons head up this jam band, sure to bring face melting guitar solos and rockin' fist pumps. For more info, check out: http://sheridanoperahouse.com/events/stockholm-syndrome-concert

Thursday the 24th-Saturday the 26th - SquidShow Theatre presents 'Dude & Bro's Epic Adventure - Duuuude. This is going to be a serious bromantic comedy at the Sheridan Opera House this weekend. Watch locals remake the excellent and bogus adventures of Bill and Ted... but with a Telluride twist. The shows are FREE and open to the public (a hat will be passed around - $10 suggested donation). This show is not suitable for children, Dude.

Friday the 25th - Leftover Salmon - The band that needs no introduction in Telluride (or Colorado for that matter)... Leftover Salmon is back and will jam out at the Conference Center on Friday night. For the past 20+ years, Leftover has been laying down the "Polyethnic Cajun Slamgrass" at festivals, dive bars, & ski slopes and collaborating with legends such as Sam Bush, Yonder Mountain String Band, Widespread Panic, Bela Fleck, Jerry Douglas, The String Cheese Incident and many, many more. It's always a pleasure to have Leftover Salmon back in town! Fessstivaaaal!!!

Friday the 25th-Sunday the 27th - Ashtanga Yoga Workshop with Tim Miller - Ommmm. The Telluride Yoga Center announces an Ashtanga Yoga Workshop with Tim Miller all weekend long. What is Ashtanga Yoga? I didn't know either... Ashtanga Yoga is a system of yoga recorded by the sage Vamana Rishi in the Yoga Korunta, an ancient manuscript. It means "eight-limbed yoga" and focuses on posture, breath & sense control, concentration, and more. Telluride yogi's will enjoy this one. Namaste. For more information, check out: http://www.tellurideyoga.com/

Saturday the 26th-Saturday, March 5th - Gay Ski Week - Show your pride on and off the slopes during the 2011 Telluride Gay Ski Week - An annual week-long gay ski event produced by StraighOut Media & Marketing. This year's festival includes a mix of celebrities and leading DJ's, including Reichen Lehmkuhl, Kinsey Sicks, Casey Alvia, OB Jen and Juice and the three-breasted drag queen of comedy, Nuclia Waste. And don't forget one of the hottest shows of the year, the Telluride AIDS Benefit Fashion Show. For more information and schedule of events, visit: http://telluridegayskiweek.com/
