The Telluride West End neighborhood is anchored by Telluride Ski Resort's lift #7 (Cookskin Lift), and the San Miguel River and the River Trail cut along the south side. The Telluride Intermediate School and High School are to the north, and the River Trail provides a scenic walk to the Gondola and beyond to Town Park, where many great Telluride festivals take place. Retail and restaurants are a bit harder to find on this side of town, but worth the effort. Clark's Market (groceries and deli) and the Telluride Vistor's center greet you as you enter town. On this side of town, Siam (Thai) is perhaps the busiest restaurant, but be sure to check out Aemono Market Deli (kitty corner from Siam) for its delicious sandwiches and fresh deli items.
