Telluride Film Festival on a Budget
Don’t be turned away by the price of passes to the festival, as it is entirely possible to enjoy the festival without emptying your wallet. While obtaining a pass ensures a hassle-free experience, we know that this is not in reach for everyone. Well, the location, the atmosphere, the overall buzzing excitement and inspiration in the air is one thing, but the variety of free events are another.

The Late Show Pass ($60):
This pass is a great opportunity to attend the last film at two different theaters each day. That adds up to four films for $60! Individual film tickets cost $25 each.
Volunteer:If interested in volunteering, there are plenty of opportunities to lend a hand and be a part of the hard work that goes to making Telluride Film Festival run smoothly. Plus, there are the wonderful perks of being involved in the festival without dishing out for a pass. Different opportunities include ushering theater crowds, serving good eats, transporting equipment, and more. Visit the volunteer page on Telluride Film Festival’s site for more information regarding hours, how to apply, and other opportunities to get involved in the behind the scenes work that makes this event happen.
Free Events:
- Free noon Seminars in Elks Park
- Free “Conversations” in the County Courthosue
- Free film premiers- one each night- in the Open Air Cinema (who doesn’t want to sit under the stars and beneath mountain silhouettes to watch a film?)
- Three free ‘Filmmakers of Tomorrow’ programs
- Free films at the Back Lot, located in the Library
