Sporting Events

Telluride , Colorado is an outdoor enthusiast’s Mecca. Here you’ll find the most gorgeous mountains heavily adorned with hiking trails, biking trails, skiing trails, off-roading trails, and probably any other kind of trail you can think of. That being said, Telluride plays host to a variety of events that showcase the incredible feats that human beings are capable of. Some of the events require immense amounts of training, such as the Hardrock 100 or the Fall Tilt. Others, such as the Mountains to Desert Ride or the Telluride 4x4 are easy and fun to participate in! 

During the winter, Telluride Ski Resort hosts ski and snowboard competitions of all levels.  There are also figure skating events, rock climbing and bouldering competitions, cross country ski events, and more. Even if you can’t compete, it’s always fun to head out, watch the races, and support all of the amazing athletes that come out to Telluride to showcase their abilities.

Most recently, Telluride hosted the Stage 1 Finish of the USA Pro Cycle Challenge, "America's Race." We hope to see the race in our town again next year!

  • Full Tilt Telluride 2012

In its fifth year, Full Tilt returns August 10 through August 12 as part of the 2012 Mountain States Cup Series (MSC), the only full-discipline mountain bike race series in the Rocky Mountains.
  • Hardrock 100

    The fittest athletes around participate in the Telluride Hardrock 100The Hard Rock 100 is a true test of strength and determination, as only the toughest and most focused athletes can conquer these mountains. Runners begin and end in the town of Silverton, passing through Telluride and Ouray along the way as they travel through grueling mountain passes.
  • Imogene Pass Run

    Racers competing in the Telluride Imogene Pass RunThis is a 17.1 mile race that covers 5,300 vertical feet on the road from Ouray to Telluride. The 2012 race will begin in the morning September 8th and will end around 2:30pm in Telluride.
