Mid-Summer Telluride Festivals

July kicks off mid-summer in Telluride with an over-the-top 4th of July Celebration complete with a huge community parade and ending with a spectacular fireworks show. Mid-summer is typically the warmest time of the year for Telluride, with temperatures rarely topping 85 degrees during the day and nights in the 50’s. The summer monsoons begin around July 4th and last for about 6 weeks. This means that the typical day will consist of gorgeous blue sky mornings, clouds and showers in the afternoon, and clearing skies at night. Wildflowers are at their peak in July and August, making this an excellent time for a jeep tour or a hike.

Telluride festivals in mid-summer are typically modest in size, which allows for easy access and better rates on lodging.  The exception is July 4, which usually draws huge crowds.
