Great Blog from our TAB Facebook Contest Winner, Lisa!

Posted on March 8, 2012 by Hart

We gave a lucky winner two tickets + lodging to the Telluride AIDS Benefit Fashion Show last weekend. Our Facebook contest winner Lisa packed up her car, invited a friend and drove down from Denver for a fun weekend in Telluride! Read her blog here:

"Serendipity.  An inquiry into who the Telluride AIDS Foundation is currently funding led to a Facebook contest for tickets to the TAB - the Telluride AIDS Benefit as you locals know all too well.  To my surprise, a few weeks later an e-mail informed me that I had won tickets to the benefit coupled with lodging.  How could I resist a trip to the stunning box canyon of Telluride of which I only had the privilege before in the months of summer?

I convinced a friend to join me for a few nights slope side.  Scrumptious late lunch and juicing at La Cocina de Luz before dolling up for the evening affair.  After driving to the Conference Center in Mountain Village and being convinced we took a wrong turn, a helpful local pointed us in the right direction. Not a sign in sight for the TAB.

First things first, I ran into colleagues in the HIV community.  I grabbed a glass of bubbly, and before I could even check out all of the attire of those in attendance, the lights were being dimmed.  Show time.

The TAB - really, oh so FAB! I stood almost the whole time to get the full view of the runway.  The production was incredibly entertaining and had me smiling from ear-to-ear.  Much better than stick thin models doing an out-and-back.  Gushed over the creativity and enamored the local stars.  Song and dance showed off all the styles and designers featured on the screen.

The rest of our mountain venture included breakfast at Maggie’s, hiking up to Bridal Veil Falls and watching a climber in awe, hot tubing under the stars, THERE... bar for gourmet grilled cheese dipping in tomato soup, noshing on hand rolls at Siam, pastries from Baked in Telluride, hiking the Jud Wiebe and having a moment on the bench, and perusing each and every store looking for a bargain.  On our way out of town, the Butcher and the Baker left us craving more.

I’ll be back!  Thank you, Telluride.com, thank you.  When mountains call, I’ll always answer.  And, if the trip involves being a part of a benefit for AIDS, I’m there to support the cause. "

~ Lisa from Denver, CO

Thank you for the great write up, Lisa! Glad you had a great time in town and come visit us again soon! Stay tuned on our Facebook Fan Page for more contests & opportunities to win a trip to Telluride! www.facebook.com/TellurideCO
