I just got back from a nice brisk hike of Bear Creek Trail, and I can say with confidence that the spring hiking season is in full gear! I didn't encounter much snow on the trail, which is unusual for this time of year, and also indicates how low the snow-pack was, and how short the run-off season will be this year. If you want to get your rafting in, NOW is the time to do it! It also dawned on me that I didn't see a single other person on the trail with me. Now this is highly unusual too, because in the summer, this trail is very heavily travelled, and reminds me that this can be a great time to hike in Telluride. The trails are empty, the leaves and flowers start to blossom, and the lodging is cheap!
We currently have some great spring lodging rates and specials! Come on out and take a hike!
