Abigail Washburn performs LIVE at the Sheridan Opera House along with musician Kai Welch on Thursday, October 25th at 8pm. This American old-time music singer and songwriter has proven herself to be a bracing revelation to the folk tradition. Abigail Washburn is an Illinois-born, Nashville-based clawhammer banjo player who is every bit as interested in the present and the future as she is in the past, and every bit as attuned to the global as she is to the local. She pairs venerable folk elements with far-flung sounds, and the results feel both strangely familiar and unlike anything anybody's ever heard before. To put it another way, she changes what seems possible.
We had the opportunity to speak with Abigail the other day about Telluride Bluegrass Festival, playing with Mumford and Sons, and her upcoming show at the historic Sheridan Opera House. Read the full interview, here.

The snowpack is really strange this year... so if you decided to go out in the backcountry, please be extremely, extremely safe.
