Just a short 40 minutes down a beautifully scenic road is
the town of Norwood where the cows roam free and the Lone Cone Mountain looms
high over the surrounding hills. This sleepy little town doesn’t get much
action throughout the year, but when the Norwood Rodeo rolls through, the place
is happening. This weekend, the San
Miguel Basin Fair and Rodeo will wrap up with events you must see! The
festivities have already begun- Telluride’s very own Ruby Tanguay won the youth
pie division contest with her Pure Pear Pie! At the moment, there are various livestock and horse shows going on and
the carnival has officially opened as of TODAY.
Take a drive and for $25 you can get an all day pass to ride the rides. The
weekend will be full of barbequing, farm and craft markets, and of course the
RODEO on Friday and Saturday nights starting at 7pm. Below is a list of the detailed schedule. If
you’re in the area, stop over for a good old western party!
