Yesterday afternoon the rain held up, the skies cleared, and two great performers took the stage at Telluride Town Park. Beats Antique brought electro wolrd-music fusion to the stage, and Ziggy Marley wrapped up with some feel good reggae. Both put on an awesome show! Here's a shot from Beats Antique backstage

This Wednesday, ride the gondola up to the Sunset Plaza in Mountain Village for a FREE show by classic American rock band, New Riders of the Purple Sage. The free Sunset Concert Series is every Wednesday, from 6-8pm.

Saturday, April 7^th – Shakedown Street – The Telluride Conference Center presents Shakedown Street (Grateful Dead Tribute Band) on Saturday night to help celebrate and dance another great winter ski season into the books. Sunday, April 8^th – Last Day of the Ski Season – Happy Easter! Sunday the 8^th will be the last day to strap on some skis and make your last turns of the Telluride Ski Resort’s winter season. After you take some turns, ski down to the Core of Mountain Village & Tomboy Tavern for a celebration with live music by The Great Funktier from 3-6pm! Sunday, April 8^th – Gondola Closes – The free Gondola connecting Telluride and Mountain Village will close for the off-season at midnight on Easter Sunday. It will reopen for the summer season on Thursday, May 24^th. Hope to have you in town this summer! 

Wow... what a week it's been in Telluride. My legs are still sore. Our much needed 2 foot dump came this past week... showering the people with powder. Sunday were some of the best turns in a while. 1st tracks down Stairs with waist-deep powder is a life changing experience. You should try it out. This weekend we have some great live music (go figure) in town. Friday, January 27^th – Ladysmith Black Mambazo – The Palm Theatre is proud to present the Grammy Award winning South African a capella singing group, Ladysmith Black Mambazo. They rose to worldwide prominence as a result of singing with Paul Simon on his 1986 album, Graceland, and have won multiple awards, including three Grammy’s. They were formed back in the 60’s and have become one of South Africa’s most prolific recording artists. We’re honored to have them in town! Friday, January 27^th – San Juan Field School Fundraiser – The Sheridan Opera House will host an event to support the San Juan Field School, a branch of the San Juan Outdoor School – a field school responsible for all of the avalanche education and training that happens in the Telluride area. These guys and girls teach life saving techniques at their Level I and Level II Avalanche courses… and they need your help to raise money and keep the education going. If you ever think about stepping foot in Bear Creek or any other backcountry terrain… you need the skills and knowledge the San Juan Field School provides. Fundraiser, movie, raffle, gear and more! Friday, January 27^th – Oakhurst – Denver, CO based “Rocky Mountain Guerilla Grass” band, Oakhurst, will rock out The Llama this Friday night. Take a string band and swap out the fiddle player for a groovy drummer and you’re well on your way to understanding their sound. A mixture of Bluegrass and Rock n’ Roll… these guys have shared stages with Leftover Salmon, Yonder Mountain String Band, Emmitt-Nershi Band and many more of our “Telluride regulars”. Saturday, January 28^th – KOTO Lip Sync – The annual lipsync competition is BACK at the Sheridan Opera House. These are the hottest, most sought-after tickets in town. Watch dozens of locals perform hilarious, choreographed routines to your favorite 80’s, 90’s and current hit songs. Tuesday, January 31^st – Toubab Krewe – The Llama welcomes back the Asheville, NC based instrumental band, Toubab Krewe. Their style includes a pinch of African percussion mixed with the music of Mali… with a touch of jam band. “TK” has performed at some of the largest music festivals in the nation, including Bonnaroo, MerleFest, Music on the Mountaintop, Rothbury and Jam Cruise.
