Sunshine and Snowmelt Bring New Adventures!
by TellurideMay 22, 2008 - 3:30pm.
After a long (but amazing) ski season, the snow continues to melt around town opening new journeys for the local thrill seeker. With over 350 inches of snow this season, town slowly begins its annual thaw and summer is right around the corner! Some of the best ways to spend your sunny days in Telluride are to check out local climbing and hiking spots. If you're into bouldering, Ilium Road boulders provide some of the best climbing in the area. Only 2 miles outside town, these granite boulders provide ideal climbing for both beginners and avid high-altitude junkies.
If you're looking for a beautiful hike, Cornet Creek Falls is located just a couple blocks off Main St. and is ideal for all ages. A great mid-day adventure, this hike takes about 30 minutes and opens into an amazing waterfall with stunning views of the ski slopes. Whether it's hiking, climbing, or discovering your own adventure, Telluride is a great place to spend your summer in the sunshine!
