An Elevated Dining Experience
by LocalApril 17, 2008 - 5:25pm.
After a long day of skiing and exploring the vast terrain of Telluride's Ski Resort, there is nothing better than unwinding with a couple friends while sharing drinks and laughs. It's après time. I had heard good things about the Inn at Lost Creek, so I decided to ski down and check out 9545.
Perfectly situated at 9,545 ft. in elevation, 9545 Restaurant and Bar is Mountain Village's answer to fine dining, convenient Après ski, and a relaxed bar atmosphere. Nestled at the bottom of lift 4, this ski-in/ski-out restaurant is somehow sophisticated and laid-back at the same time. With a convenient ski valet service and slippers provided for ski-boot weary diners, you are immediately met with the award winning service of a "Top 100 Best Hotel in the World" (Reader's Choice Awards - Conde Nast Traveler 2003).
9545's main menu offers fresh, seasonal ingredients for your fine dining experience. The featured dinner menu includes "24 hour" fresh Alaskan King Salmon, Spice Grilled Pork Tenderloin, a hearty Buffalo Sirloin and many more mouth-watering entrees. In a rush or in the mood for a more casual atmosphere? 9545's bar is the place to relax and admire the whimsical sunsets in the evenings. My favorite part of 9545's bar was the convenience of ordering from either the main menu or the Après bar menu while enjoying the laid-back environment. To satisfy a skier's appetite try the Crab & Avocado wrap, Portobello Fries, the "Best Burger in Telluride" and don't forget to wash it down with one of their many specialty winter cocktails. The bar tends to be a bit crowded during the Après ski rush, but overall, well worth the wait. From a quick bite to multiple-course dining, 9545 truly has "an elevated dining experience" above the rest.
