Telluride is not a sleepy mountain town - though you can stay in and enjoy the solitude, if you wish. Telluride is one of the best venues for live music in Colorado. There are also locations for dancing, great places for apres-ski, old-style taverns or just great places to people watch.
Fly Me to the Moon Saloon, 136 E. Columbia, 970-728-6666. A great place for live music. This spacious and happening spot offers live music every weekend and many weeknights as well. There is a dance floor, pool table and a few video games - something for everyone.
New Sheridan Opera House, 110 N. Oak St, 970-728-6363. Located in a 1913 building, this intimate 240 seat opera house showcases some of today's most popular performers hosting many live shows throughout the summer and winter season. The theatre also features a dance floor, conference center, and movie theatre.
New Sheridan Bar, 233 W. Columbia, 970-728-3911. This bar remains very similar to when it opened in 1895. A great spot for pool, fussball, and a great beer selection, it remains a local favorite. Food is also available in the adjacent New Sheridan Chop House from 5:00pm-9:00pm.
The Last Dollar Saloon, 100 E. Colorado, 970-728-4800. "The Buck" attracts locals and visitors alike. If you like the pool-and-darts theme and cold beer, this is your place. This is a also a great place for people watching.
Brown Dog Pizza, 110 E. Colorado, 970-728-8046. Telluride's unnofficial sport's bar. With more than 15 flat screens and plenty of seating this is a great spot to watch a game or grab a quick bite. The menu includes subs, salads, pizza and pasta. The Brown Dog is also Telluride's only late night food option serving pizza slices until midnight.
O'Bannon's Irish Pub, 121 E. Fir St., 970-728-6139. This basement bar has been a staple on Telluride's late night scene for years. O'Bannon's is a no frills Irish pub with a great music selection. There is also pool, darts, and fussball.
The Bubble Lounge, 200 W. Colorado. The Bubble Lounge offers great champagne and wine by the bottle or glass. Themed parties/events scheduled every month. There is also an oxygen bar, which can be very beneficial at 8500 ft.
